Next week, ACT:S is partnering with MiiR to take a look at the role water plays in our everyday lives and how we can be more aware of the ways we use (and often waste) water. Here’s how you can join in next week:

Wednesday July 11th: Conserve Water Water is essential to life. We need it to grow food, keep clean, provide power, and last but not least, we need it to stay alive! Use our water conserving tips to help the environment, save you money and make sure there is plenty to go around. |

Thursday July 12th: Reduce Plastic In spite of having easy access to clean water, the United States is the world’s largest bottled water consumer, and 69% of bottled water containers end up in the trash and not in a recycling container. Show Mother Nature some love and take the challenge to ditch bottled water. |

Friday July 13th: Take Action Join us in taking the next steps to make the things you have learned a part of your everyday life, and start a movement that will benefit you and many others. After this week, what do you plan on doing differently? Share your idea on the ACT:S platform. |
Also, don’t forget to VOTE on your favorite water bottle designs by July 14! The top 4 designs will become a new line of skins for Miir water bottles, helping people go green with a little bit of style. Vote by liking your favorites on the ACT:S Challenge today!
Who is MiiR?
MiiR believes in challenging the status quo. In 2009, founder Bryan Papé set out to design a more innovative and functional water bottle. In the process, he also learned that nearly one billion people don’t have access to clean drinking water.
He stumbled upon this quote by Richard Stearns in The Hole in Our Gospel: “In Africa, they don’t say that water is important to their lives; they say that water is life. It is absolutely the foundation upon which civilization and human life is built, and the best news is that we have the knowledge and the technology to provide it. All we lack is the will.”
Determined to make a difference, Bryan made giving back to those in need through great products the center of his company. Through MiiR’s one4one initiative, one dollar of each bottle provides one person with clean water for an entire year. To date, MiiR has donated more than $30,000 to building wells.
Learn more about MiiR at their website and through their documentary, “Beyond the Bottle.”
